College Dorm List
The list every parent needs to send a kiddo off to college
Sending your kids off to college is both heart wrenching and exciting. There is so much to do to get them ready and the last thing you need to worry about is if you remembered everything they will need.
~Spoiler alert, you won’t.~
But that’s ok! Each kid, each college, each year is a learning experience. Have fun, be present, and roll with the punches. Knowing and collecting all the supplies they will need can certainly be overwhelming and confusing since everyone has an opinion on what your kid(s) will want and need. You combine that with each college and dorm room being different and a one size fits all list doesn’t work.
So a little about me if we haven’t already met! I have two kids in college right now, and I have 2 more coming up the pipeline. My oldest goes to college 20 minutes from our house and will graduate this December. He lived on campus for one year - 2020. Yeah, it was a hot mess to say the least, but despite the challenges of the pandemic he enjoyed dorm life.
Now my oldest daughter attends college 7 hours away and has two more years left. Because she has a lot of allergies she spent the year cooking for herself in the dorm kitchen on a weekly basis. That required some additional supplies that she needed to take with her to school.
Moving my son into his dorm room and moving my daughter into her dorm room were two completely different experiences. Not only because of the pandemic, but the supplies and decorations they both needed and wanted, plus roommate coordination, were totally different.
So here is my college list of supplies that combines my current experiences. I also included links to my favorite products!
